[5.26 - 28.2001 Memorial Day Weekend] This entry and I think a couple more of them are old thoughts and recollections of some stuff. Again, I haven't updated for a while, so this is (I guess) old news. I think this is kind of strange because there's something about being current and consistant with journals. Oh well, better late something than nothing. Saturday What a great time to have a three day weekend. Man, school gets pretty busy and yeah, having a holiday before ninth week (10 weeks in a quarter) is just great. Our apartment was able to hang out for lunch on saturday morning. We went to this Thai buffet place. Awww yeah. Good food, lots of it. If anything, it was just good to hang out together as an apartment especially in light of the busyness of school and stuff to do. We haven't hung out for such a long time. Sunday A bunch of us got together to watch Kindergarten Cop. Adeline, Joann, and Jo came over. Man, that was fun. We all crowded in front of the little 13 inch TV and laughed at all of Arnold's funny lines. It was nice to have those girls come over for company. I think it's cool how people are really making the effort to hang out since the school year's wrapping up soon. Monday Yucan had his bachelor's party on Monday. We all piled into the Main Gym and we played a basketball tournament, dodge ball, and barbeque. Just a really fun time overall. It was cool to see so many guys there, from graduates to the guys that always hang out here in San Diego, and Yucan's friends from back home. All the activities were fun, but I think the best part was at the end when all the guys met together and Yucan spoke a bit about how things were going. He talked about how he wanted us all to continue to hang out with him even though he was getting married. And then he introduced his groomsmen and the stories behind their friendships. I started thinking about the day, and how it was good to celebrate a friend and to appreciate him as he heads into the world of marriage. Man, Yucan's really loved, and it just reflects on the love that he's put into the lives of others. I'm kind of rambling... but all in all, a good weekend. ___________________________________________ | previous | journal (i need a good name) | next | |
