Today, we went to go see Shrek. Ha ha, it was a pretty funny movie. I haven't seen a movie for a really long time, so it was fun to go out with my apartment (minus Sam), and Aileen (Kevin Baba and a girl named Michelle watched Dr. Doolittle 2 instead). Shrek was cool. It had a good story line (about this green ogre that was more than his apperance), and some really funny stabs at Disney folk tales and just funny crazy unexpected stuff. Also, the animation was really really good. Dreamworks did a really good job. I think it's crazy that all of these movies are coming out that are almost 100% rendered in a computer. It's so much work!

I guess that leads me to what i've really been thinking about. When the credits rolled down that screen, I was just looking at all of those names and thinking: Wow, it's really neat to see all of the names behind all of the work. And I was thinking that it would feel really great to be on the list of rolling credits: to put your blood, sweat, and tears into something and have it turn out in a cool movie like Shrek.

Shrek was impressive because it was pretty much clean fun. I mean, there was a bit of cussing and some adult humor, but nothing perverse or any nudity. I guess I've been thinking about that in terms of my occupation. I'd love to do something like Shrek. A movie that isn't just a junky money maker like Tomb Raider, but something that makes people think, cry, laugh (LAUGH!), and just have a good time. There have been a couple companies that have peaked my interest ( I would love to work with them): hgun labs ( www.hgun.com ), Pixar studios, relevant media ( www.relevantmediagroup.com ) , gotee records ( www.gotee.com ) , jedidiah boardriding ( www.jedidiahboardriding.com ). Hgun and Pixar are pretty popular companies, putting out movies and commercials... but I think relevant media , gotee, and jedidiah are neat because they are companies that have purposes that go beyond the money. They are doing things that they love (media, music , or surf / skate stuff) and at the same time they put out quality projects that mean to reach out to other people.

I wonder about my own future occupation in life. Will I do things similarly? Will I be part of a company like jedidiah: where work is what i'm passionate about and where it is used directly to affect other people in thinking about life with God? I guess that's why I was a bit quite after the movie. I was tired, but also just wondering, if my name will ever roll down the big screen.
