[4.18.01 - 12:49 AM ] It's kinda late, but I wanna get this down or i'll forget about it. There was a going away party for Alex Min today. Man, if anyone in the world deserved a party it would be him. So, it was good to appreciate him and also that so many people out to appreciate him. See, Alex is one of those guys that does everything behind the scenes, and without complaining. He does the church bulletin every sunday, sets up chairs early on sunday morning, leads small group, always asks if he can help and stuff. The list can literally go on and on. What makes Alex really awesome is that he does all of these things without expecting anything in return. I remember during the Yosemite trip when I was getting a bit frustrated with some things, and I was sitting on the side looking a bit bothered. (One of those times when you sit there feeling sorry for yourself and you want someone to ask you if you're okay, but you also want to be left alone) Well, I was sitting there feeling sorry for myself and good old Alex comes along. He just sits next to me and asks 'Are you doing okay, Chia?' and I say 'I dunno know.' And then he just sits there with me without saying anything. During the party, Albert said it best. He talked about how Alex was one of the most non - threatening persons he knew, that he it was always great and easy to be honest with him. In Matthew, Jesus explains that if you want to be great in God's kingdom, you have to be a servant of all. And, yeah, I think Alex got a taste of greatness. ___________________________________________ | journal (i need a good name) | next | |
